About ten years ago, my husband Jeff, surprised me with a new point and shoot digital camera for Christmas. His expectation was for me to be able to take good race pictures at the Little Brown Jug the following September. Well, I tried and tried... but didn't succeed, at least not at first. Now, three cameras later, a new lens, and a ton of practice I believe I have it figured out.

Since Jeff and I are Standardbred horse owners, I wanted action photos of our horses racing. So, I got to thinking, maybe other owners would enjoy the same thing. Because not every horse makes it to the winner's circle for a treasured win picture, I enjoy shooting random pictures throughout the race and during warm-ups. Most of my pictures are taken at Scioto Downs and the Delaware County Fair (Jug Week). I am pleased most of the program covers at Scioto Downs are my photos.

Aside from the racetrack action, I find great joy shooting photos of Standardbred horses retiring from the track and moving on to other careers. New Vocations Race Horse Adoption Program in Laurelville, OH, retrains Standardbred race horses for various occupations under saddle and places them in new, caring homes. Each month I photograph these great horses going up for adoption. You may view the photos on my Facebook page, my webiste, or the New Vocations website.

This is my way of promoting harness racing and helping the Standardbred horses adoption program.

When I'm not at the track with my camera, you will find me posting pictures of whatever catches my eye. This will include anything from adorable children, lovable pets, fascinating people, to nature and wildlife at its best.
